Rock On!!

Rock on....Hai ye waqt ka ishara., rock on...Har lamha pukaraa...You'll be crooning those lines while you'd be returning way back to home after watching ROCK ON!!

Great flick people..Go for it, if you have not seen it yet.

Is ROCK ON!! DCH 2, one is tempted to ask. DCH was a trendsetter when you look back, paving way for storytellers who wanted a new story to tell. Now, the DCH team of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar with director Abhishek Kapoor deliver ROCK ON!!... a film that makes you understand the true meaning of friendship.

Put your hands together for one of the finest films of our times. Put your hands together for a director who pulls off a challenging subject with such ease. Put your hands together for the actors who pitch in superlative performances.

ROCK ON!! is not just about music. It's about relationships. And relationships can get really complicated and messy as all of us would agree. ROCK ON!! captures it so beautifully, so sensitively, so effectively on celluloid.

Saw it yesterday, still livin in the persistent hangover of it,and this one is likely to stay. This movie takes you on a ride of friendship, emotions, love, differences, ambitions,a zeal to fulfill one's dreams and most importantly to tell u "Jaise jeene ko dil chaahe jee waise tu,Apne dil ke jitne armaan hain poore kar le tu..."

Its a story of four friends who breath music and they want to make it big but dreams crash after few reality punches and then their individual life takes them to their separate ways, reunion gets them back on track with a vangeance to proove their salt and this time they rock big time. Well its just the outline of the story, pretty normal and predictable but what makes it simply outstanding is the performances, screenplay and one of the most amazing music of the year so far.Watch the bonding shatter into pieces for no fault of anyone in particular actually. It's the circumstances that play the villain here and Abhishek captures it on lens so beautifully. The fragile relationships, how piece after piece is put together and the journey to the climax… the narrative is so compelling, it makes you feel you're witnessing all of it first-hand.

The characterization of the movie is so real that after a few reels u start to see them as they are shown in the movie literally. The lead vocalist(Farhaan),Drummer(Purab),Keyboardplayer(Kenny)and last but not the least the Lead Guitarist(Arjun Rampal). They all have given the performance with so much intensity like they are living their own lives on celluloid.

The songs are fabulous, specially Tum ho to..at the climax will completely move u.....I sarted to get the vibes even before KD hits the drums...and Aditya(Farhan) starts to croon... amazing vocal abilty.... I must admit what kind of sheer talent this guy has got....simply prodigious. He can direct,act,sing...I wonder what this man cant do...Whatever he does he turns that into gold.Arjun Rampal has got a role of a lifetime and he did well.He surpised me with his intense portrayal of a failed man.Three cheers for Arjun. More of an actor now than model. Purab was wicked funny and added the much needed humor but he is a very intense actor.Kenny is good.Prachi comes as a surprise package with simplicity and so relaxed acting.I read an article somewhere about the Bahu being a Babe under the sari and my my is the article true. Prachi's role wasn't long but for sure significant and positive. At the age of 19 she has given a poised and mature performance and showed a lot of potentional. She made Bani what it was and yet there was no Bani in Sakshi. It was just Sakshi. Take a bow lady. For me the surprise was how good Farhan and Prachi looked as husband-wife. Take a bow Farhan and Prachi. Honest and Genuine acting.

There are too many of scenes in the movie that you'll remember for long,I think its a cult of its own specially in bollywood...which has really come out of ages.

At the end I would just say an amazing movie...the effect still reels in the mind..after a long time, a movie that can walk on the path of DCH and yet come up impressive. Its not a movie its a phenomenon... Include this movie in your list of "movies to watch before u die". JUST rockin,u'll feel it.... u'll live it.................ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Guys problem hai...I am in love with two guys :S..Ek Imraan to tha he ..now Farhaan tooo :S :P
