You and I...Us

We sit together against the wall. You and I—side by side—in the darkness. You put your arm around me and start making shapes on my shoulder with your fingers. You turn your head and look at my face while I continue to look straight ahead. You smile. You lean in and kiss my hair (You are the first man who has ever kissed my hair). I hold your hand and trace the lines on your palm. After a while I put my leg between yours. It's comfy. We look at each other and I touch your face. I can't help but touch your face whenever I am close to you. I want to feel it. I want to trace your eye brows and your jaw line. I want to create an image in my mind with my fingers.

You lean closer and brush your nose playfully against mine. I see a blurry smile on your face as I ruffle your hair so you look even cuter.I lean my head against your shoulder and stare in the void while your fingers continue to caress my arm.I realize that this is the longest I have been able to sit in silence with someone. I know you are thinking the same thing.You and I. Side by side. In Silence--- It is pure comfort.

I cannot help but think about the possibility to "us". What would life be like if it was not You and I but an "US"?
